Vidya says PMKVY is a life changer in Kondagaon

The Central Government established the Prime Minister Kaushal Viyas Yojana in July 2015 to address unemployment among Indian youth. This flagship program targets individuals with minimal formal education and school dropouts through comprehensive skill development initiatives. The scheme provides training periods ranging from three months to one year with nationally recognized certification upon completion.

Government statistics reveal that approximately 13.7 crore participants have received training through this initiative. More than 720 Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras operate across the nation as modern vocational education centers. These facilities employ advanced teaching methods and technology to develop expertise across multiple industries.

Vidya Thakur from Kondagaon demonstrates the program's effectiveness through her computer training experience. She credits the free education opportunity with enhancing her future employment prospects while acknowledging additional government benefits. The initiative particularly empowers women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by reducing poverty levels and promoting financial independence through skill acquisition and job creation opportunities.
