Vidyut Jammwal waxes eyes, honors Kalari warrior roots

Actor Vidyut Jammwal demonstrated his intense training in the ancient martial art Kalari Payattu, sharing a video where he applies candle wax to his eyes. He described the practice as a way to honor the discipline and transcend physical limits, calling it a testament to warrior spirit. Kalari Payattu, originating from Kerala, is one of the oldest known fighting systems, combining physical rigor, spiritual elements, and traditional weaponry.

Jammwal is preparing for the live-action film Street Fighter, featuring a cast including Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, and Callina Liang. The movie's teaser debuted at a recent awards show, revealing a plot where estranged fighters Ryu and Ken are recruited for a tournament while confronting a conspiracy. The film, directed by Kitao Sakurai, is scheduled for an October release next year. Other cast members are Roman Reigns, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Andrew Schulz, Eric Andre, Curtis 50 Cent Jackson, and Jason Momoa.
