Zimbabwe's judicial framework must reflect African principles of shared humanity and serve as an instrument for societal change rather than mere regulation, according to Vimbai Nyemba, who leads the Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs ministry. Speaking at the Law Society of Zimbabwe gathering in Nyanga, she called on legal professionals to build equitable systems rooted in Ubuntu philosophy while ensuring no citizen faces exclusion from protection under the law.
Nyemba emphasized that fairness and representation stem from indigenous values rather than imported concepts, urging attorneys to view their work as restoring dignity and amplifying marginalized voices.
