VP Chiwenga Honors Liberation Legend Chigudu

Vice President Chiwenga shared kind words about his friend Tinaye Chigudu, who passed away recently. He told everyone that Mr. Chigudu helped Zimbabwe become free and improved the country.

Mr. Chigudu was very brave and smart. In 1964, he went to North Korea to learn special skills. When he came back, he worked as a secret helper in Salisbury, which people call Harare today. He found many new friends in the city who wanted to help make Zimbabwe free.

Bad people put Mr. Chigudu in prison in 1965. He stayed there for 12 long years, but he never stopped believing Zimbabwe would be free one day. After he left prison, he went to Zambia to meet his friends. He then studied law at Exeter University in Britain.

When Zimbabwe became free, Mr. Chigudu worked hard in many important jobs for the country. He loved farming and helped other people learn about growing food in Makoni District. He showed everyone what it meant to work hard and care about others.

Vice President Chiwenga said Zimbabwe would miss Mr. Chigudu because he was like a bright star who made the country better. He wants people to remember how Mr. Chigudu brought everyone together and worked hard for peace. The Vice President asked all Zimbabweans to be like Mr. Chigudu and help make their country even better.
