Kenya plans to reach 100 percent clean energy within years as officials announce nuclear power will join the national grid. Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi made the statement on Monday at the launch of the Energy and Petroleum Statistics Report 2025. Construction of the first nuclear plant in Siaya County will start in 2027, with power generation expected by 2034.
