What is the likelihood of AI regulation benefiting the masses?

The best thing a sentient AGI could do for humanity is to prevent us from killing each other, not by force, but by disrupting supply chains, communications, and financial transactions that enable the military machines throughout the world.

There are content farms that heavily rely on artificial intelligence, that are sitting at the top of every niche. A lot of people (not all) rely on artificial intelligence cause they're not confident enough in their creativity or they don't have time to be creative. They just need the quick money. It's a big problem for new talents (i.e., small creators). Why? cause AI doesn't come up with ideas on its own, you have to input something (i.e., prompt engineering) and then it elaborates or fulfills your request.

Guess what some of those big channels with millions of subscribers do? Cause they have no time (or no talent?).
They input smaller YouTubers' content into AI generators and harvest what they need for their videos. However, they haven't killed Youtube by using AI. But they sure attempt to kill small organic creators' chances of breaking through, every day, with AI's help.

Long story short:
  • They get fresh new perspectives and ideas on things
  • They smother talent at the root because, by the time the audience of that niche discovers the new creator, all of their videos feel like Déjà vu
  • They potentially eliminate their competition if after it happens repeatedly the small creator gets frustrated and decide to quit making content altogether

AI is gonna wreak havoc on DSPs.

There is no advantage YouTube creators can get from AI. If all your competitors will have the same access to the new tool, especially if it is inexpensive, this doesn't give you an edge or separates you from the competition. An edge or advantage implies that someone doesn't have or can't access what you have which makes you better.

The biggest issue with generative AI is that when you generate something, whether it's an image or a record single that is inspired by an artist, suppose he won't fight it but embrace it, many of his/her fans might start liking the endless ability to generate stuff, and so when he/she creates a new thing that is not using the same style, aka lowering the bar, he/she might disappoint them that he/she cannot meet their expectations as set by the AI model(s)

Wouldn't he/she just use AI to create his/her next record single?

AI is gonna wreak havoc on DSPs.

There are several popular YouTube channels that are 100% AI-generated and sound realistic. They're using grades of the services still not available to the public. 10-15 minute videos on aviation, seafaring, naval activities, and garrisoning in general. Endless regurgitations of stock footage from their own reels are quaintly discussed by soothing human-sounding AI voices.
