Where Winds Meet drops chaotic Elder Express mode in v1.2

NetEase basically wants you to haul virtual grandmas while sweating in massive guild wars this January. The studio detailed a roadmap for Where Winds Meet version 1.2, arriving on January 9. This update features the final Kaifeng volume alongside a tough campaign boss named Supreme Freedom.

Developers introduced a Guild Battle Preseason to test large-scale multiplayer mechanics. Teams must coordinate strategies across six matches to secure victory. The company claimed this trial run helps them tweak gameplay before the full season launches.

They added a bizarre mode called Elder Express, where users transport elderly characters through streets. This content sits alongside the Nine Mortal Ways Camp and a puzzle cave dubbed Mistveil Prison. The patch also includes the Jianghu Martial Games for some casual entertainment.

The game allegedly hit fifteen million users globally after expanding to mobile platforms recently. Reviews praised the open-world mechanics despite some free-to-play jank. It seems this title might actually stick around in the crowded live-service market.
