White Tigers retain Spires 5-A-Side title in Lagos

White Tigers secured the 2025 Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament championship after defeating Papa SA by a 4-0 margin at the Stables Sports Center in Surulere, claiming their second consecutive title. The Lagos Island squad under Coach Emmanuel Olom collected a top prize of 5 million naira, while runners-up Papa SA earned 3 million naira. Greater Tomorrow FC took third place and 1 million naira following a 3-1 victory against Chekas United.

Ojo Rhaman captured both the top scorer and MVP honors with 14 goals, receiving 500,000 naira in combined awards. Emmanuel Olom earned 250,000 naira as coach of the tournament, and Papa SA goalkeeper Sadiq Ridwan claimed the Golden Glove along with an identical cash prize.

Tournament founder Bankole Allibay indicated that Spires has begun planning for the next edition while pursuing brand partnerships to expand the competition. This season featured 40 teams in divisional qualifiers before 16 finalists advanced to the state championship.
