Barwe has worked as a news reporter for ZBC television for more than thirty years. Chivayo remembered watching Barwe on black and white TV when he was seven years old. The businessman earned the nickname Rueben after telling on his sisters as a child.
Chivayo praised the journalist for keeping Zimbabwe informed during hard times and celebrations. He said Barwe inspired people to hope for better days ahead. The gift includes a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, which costs a lot of money. Chivayo told Barwe to pick up the vehicle at the Faramatsi Motors showroom on Nelson Mandela Avenue.
