Nyesom Wike declared his successor, Siminalayi Fubara, has no chance at success as governor. During a Saturday speech to his many backers, the former Rivers State leader claimed Fubara filled his staff with harmful actors. These same people had begged for the job Wike later handed to Fubara, but he refused them earlier because he saw their bad intentions toward Rivers State.
The former governor mocked Fubara by comparing his situation to losing a sports match two points down. He referred to the Supreme Court making Fubara redo his 2025 budget presentation for the 27 lawmakers under Martin Amaewhule. The court also demanded fresh local voting across all districts. Wike blamed these current advisors for leading Fubara astray and warned about more problems coming from their poor guidance.
