Wild Warmup Clash Sees Proteas Take on Chevrons

South Africa will face Zimbabwe at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground on June 3. The teams will play a four-day warm-up match in Sussex. This game helps South Africa prepare for their big World Test Championship Final against Australia. The final match starts June 11 at the Oval. South Africa last played red-ball cricket against Pakistan in January and won that series.

Zimbabwe just finished playing England at Trent Bridge after 20 years away from English cricket. England won that match easily but Zimbabwe had some good moments. Brian Bennett scored a century for his team during the first part of the game. Zimbabwe cannot use Sikandar Raza, Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava for this warm-up match. The team will still field strong players like Sean Williams and Craig Ervine.

This warm-up match helps Zimbabwe prepare for their home series against South Africa later. Those two Test matches will happen in Bulawayo during June and July. Zimbabwe will also host New Zealand for another two-match series after that. Both teams announced their squads for these upcoming cricket contests. The matches give both sides chances to test their skills before important series.
