William Ruto pledges smoother Nairobi roads in Sh2.1 billion upgrade

Nairobi will receive enhanced transportation infrastructure through a joint government initiative worth 2.1 billion shillings. The national administration and county leadership announced the comprehensive road development program during Wednesday's bridge inauguration ceremony at Soweto. President William Ruto and Governor Johnson Sakaja confirmed the project targets 62 kilometers of urban roadways for completion by December 2025. The collaboration demonstrates coordinated efforts between different governmental levels to address infrastructure challenges.

Embakasi constituency will benefit from the largest allocation of 24 kilometers of road improvements. Starehe and Kamukunji areas each receive 7.9 kilometers of rehabilitated streets, while Kasarani and Roysambu share similar coverage. Westlands obtains 4.9 kilometers of upgraded pathways along with other designated neighborhoods.
