Bank Windhoek brought singers together for a weekend music festival. Choirs from across Namibia performed at Windhoek High School Hall during the two-day event. Crowds filled every seat and gave standing ovations to the talented performers. The celebration showed off local musical skills and brought different cultures together. South African conductor Renette Bouwer taught workshops to help singers improve their abilities.
Local experts Ponti Dikuua and Bonnie Pereko helped lead training sessions for choir directors. Sixty-two conductors from nine regions learned new vocal techniques and leadership skills. Pereko shared tips for running successful choirs and keeping them active for many years. Dikuua encouraged groups to sing songs written by Namibian composers. The workshops covered music reading skills and how to pick the right songs for concerts.
