Ivosight has updated Soundop, its Windows application for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering audio, to version 2.1. This update brings a range of enhancements aimed at improving workflow and flexibility. Users can process, edit, and save multiple audio files simultaneously, with progress displayed in the Projects panel. To help prevent unwanted pops at playback start or stop, new options let users fade in and fade out the sound automatically.
Another welcome addition is the ability to add input effects to tracks, expanding sound-shaping options. Users can zoom horizontally with the mouse wheel at either the edit cursor or the current mouse position, making navigation more intuitive. Clip fades have become easier to adjust: holding the Alt key keeps both ends moving together, Shift restricts movement in one direction, and Ctrl changes the fade curve.
Soundop now plays all frequencies using the "Play to End" command and remembers which tool was active during the last session. Time selections can be scaled, and spectral editing remains off when the spectral editor is hidden. Visibility and playback controls have been refined, including reduced transparency for time selections when frequencies are selected and adjustable pre-roll and post-roll lengths for both playback and recording.
A simple button now switches on "Play Only Selected Frequency," while a new option turns off waveform amplitude zooming with the mouse wheel. Gnudb CDDB server support is included, and saving markers during audio exports within range markers is improved. Users can also adjust waveform transparency levels and change waveform display modes.
