Winnie Odinga recalls a bull chase in Migori village

Winnie Odinga recalled a childhood encounter with an aggressive bull at her grandmother's residence in Stella, Migori County. The EALA legislator spoke on Thursday as her family received visitors who came to honor her late father, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. She described how the animal named Basanga chased her and a cousin between family compounds at the Bondo homestead in Siaya county. Her relative escaped quickly while she ran toward a fence before reaching safety.

Governor Ochilo Ayacko brought 500 Migori residents to the burial site at Kang'o ka Jaramogi. The group consisted of county officials, assembly members, religious figures and community representatives from eight subcounties. Delegations from Nakuru, Kiambu, Murang'a, Kirinyaga, Meru and Nyeri also visited to pay respects. Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka led another contingent that acknowledged the deceased leader's impact across regional and cultural boundaries.
