Wipeout creator brings mini golf to Meta Quest headsets

Starlight Games will release House of Golf VR on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, for Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S headsets. The mixed-reality title allows players to design digital miniature golf courses in their homes or outdoor spaces using virtual reality technology.

Nick Burcombe co-founded Starlight Games after working on the Wipeout racing franchise. Gary Nichols serves as the chief executive officer, and he described the game as a tool for creative expression in physical environments. Players need adequate space to swing their arms as if holding a putter.

The studio develops two additional projects in conjunction with this debut release. One features futuristic sports gameplay, and the other combines science fiction with rogue-lite action mechanics. Meta launched an Xbox-branded Quest 3S headset earlier in 2025, and developers confirmed a Batman: Arkham Shadow sequel remains in production.
