Yanga eyes new striker as Mzize recovery drags on

Smashing a local team three-nil apparently isn't enough to satisfy the boss because Young Africans head coach Pedro Gonçalves demanded a new striker during the open transfer window. He announced this plan at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar after his squad dismantled KVZ in the Mapinduzi Cup.

The Portuguese manager feels the roster lacks depth while Clement Mzize recovers from medical issues. Gonçalves views this tournament as a glorified practice session to test incoming talent like Emmanuel Mwanengo, who recently debuted. He praised the fresh recruit but noted that learning the system takes patience.

KVZ assistant Ali Khalid Omar confessed his players flopped in front of goal against such a dominant force. The heavy defeat eliminated them but offered lessons for future matches. Young Africans will face TRA United next as they continue their run in the competition.
