Young entrepreneurs seek extension of NEIP Adwumawura deadline

Young business leaders ask Ghana's government to give more time for startup applications. The Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs sent a letter to the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme. They want the Adwumawura Programme deadline moved from today to the end of June. Many young people cannot finish their applications because of computer problems. The application website keeps crashing from heavy use.

Sherif Ghali leads the Chamber and wrote to Eric Adjie at the innovation program. He says young entrepreneurs face unfair barriers beyond their control. The Youth Employment Agency offices also create delays for people seeking required documents. These problems prevent qualified applicants from submitting their materials on time. The Chamber believes extending the deadline will help more deserving candidates participate.

The Adwumawura Programme helps young Ghanaians start new businesses and expand existing ones. Government officials designed it to boost youth entrepreneurship across the country. Heavy website traffic causes the application system to freeze during the submission process. Many applicants lose their work when the portal stops working properly. Technical failures leave potential beneficiaries unable to complete their entries.

The Chamber also sent their request to the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment. They promise to work with the innovation program to build a stronger business environment. The letter emphasizes their commitment to helping young entrepreneurs succeed throughout Ghana. Officials have not announced whether they will extend the application period. The Chamber continues waiting for an official response about their deadline extension request.
