Your ASRock motherboard is out to kill your AMD processor

ASRock motherboards continue destroying AMD Ryzen 9800X3D processors despite firmware updates that manufacturers claimed resolved the problem. A Reddit user lost two replacement chips on the same ASRock X870 RS Pro WiFi board within identical timeframes of two and a half months. The owner ran BIOS version 3.25 from May, which ASRock recommended as a fix for precision boost overdrive problems, but the second processor failed anyway.

Gamers Nexus analyst Steve Burke requested both damaged processors and the motherboard for investigation after months of similar complaints remained unexplained. ASRock maintains its boards function properly with recent firmware versions, but the company's 800-series models account for most Ryzen 9800X3D failures reported by users. The affected customer avoided newer BIOS releases after other owners documented additional complications with versions 3.30 and 3.40.
