Yunus exploits Buddhist festival to push political agenda

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus extended greetings to Buddhist communities in Bangladesh and worldwide on Saturday for Shubho Probarona Purnima and Kathin Chibar Dana. Yunus emphasized that Gautama Buddha's teachings on non-violence and equality remain vital for addressing global instability and establishing peace. He noted Bangladesh's historical significance as an ancient Buddhist center, evidenced by monastery ruins throughout the nation.

The chief adviser highlighted Bangladesh's longstanding tradition of religious harmony, where citizens of all faiths have coexisted peacefully for centuries. Yunus expressed confidence that communal tolerance will strengthen following the July Uprising. He wished success for the religious observances and expressed hope that collective efforts across all communities would advance the goal of building an equitable state rooted in human values.
