Yunus wants courts to stand on their own

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus talked about fixing the court system at a big meeting today. He spoke at the InterContinental Hotel during a conference about making courts work better. The government leader promised to make judges more independent from political pressure. Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed ran the meeting where many legal experts gathered. Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and other top officials also gave speeches.

Yunus said the July protests showed people wanted fair treatment from courts. Many people died during those demonstrations fighting against unfair government actions. The leader believes court reforms will create a fresh start for the country. He wants to build a society where everyone gets equal treatment under the law. These changes should help fulfill promises made to those who lost their lives.

The government plans several major changes to help courts work independently. Officials want new rules for moving judges between different areas. They also propose creating a separate office system just for courts. This would stop politicians from pressuring judges about their decisions. The Supreme Judicial Council started working again to watch over court officials.

Yunus thanked the Chief Justice for leading these reform efforts across the country. The top judge visited every region to get support from local court workers. Foreign countries like those from the European Union helped fund these improvements. Sweden and other nations also provided money and advice for the reform process.
