Zaka farmers get inputs under Pfumvudza for the new season

Agricultural authorities in Zaka District delivered maize seed, cotton seed and fertilizer to communal farmers through the Presidential Inputs Scheme as Zimbabwe prepares for the 2025/26 growing season under the Pfumvudza/Intwasa Programme. Stanford Musvini from Runoona Village said participation over four years enabled his household to construct housing, support children's education and establish poultry operations while preparing four fields for the current planting cycle.

Deputy Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Davis Marapira cautioned recipients against misusing supplies by selling inputs and emphasized that the distribution reflects government's commitment to rural food production. Headman Manokore noted that timely availability strengthens community confidence for achieving strong yields.

The Meteorological Services Department forecast normal to above-normal precipitation for the season. Recipients had completed land preparation requirements before receiving materials.
