Zambian Football Icons Arrive for Malawi Showdown

Some old-time soccer stars from Zambia have come to Lilongwe. They'll play against Malawi's past heroes this Saturday at Bingu National Stadium. Fans from both countries can't wait to watch their former stars play.

The Zambian team said goodbye at Football House. Reuben Kamanga, who runs Zambian soccer, told them to make their country proud. He feels happy about the game because it has players from after the year 2000. Many of these players helped Zambia win the Africa Cup in 2012.

The team brings back many famous names. Players like Chintu Kampamba, Felix Katongo, and James Chamanga will be there. They played great soccer for Zambia years ago. More stars like Clive Hachilensa, Billy Mwanza, and Justin Zulu have joined them, too.

These countries love to play with each other. They met last year in Chipata during a big celebration. Zambia won that game 2-1. Clifford Mulenga and Ignatius Lwipa scored for Zambia. Jimmy Zakazaka put one in for Malawi.

The teams want to bring back their old fighting spirit. Patrick Phiri, who coached for many years, will lead the Zambian team. The game starts at three in the afternoon. Everyone wants to see these soccer heroes play again.
