ZANU-PF pushes sewing skills as an economic war tactic

Constance Shamu officiated at a graduation ceremony on Thursday for sewing students at Rasper Skills Training Centre in Zvimba East. The Zanu PF Mashonaland West Women's League Provincial Chairlady oversaw the completion of a six-month program designed to provide participants with practical skills and economic opportunities.

Shamu urged graduates to demonstrate discipline and innovation in their future work. She told attendees that younger generations must pursue economic progress through education and skills training, noting that high participation from young women reflects the government's priorities for empowerment.

The chairlady encouraged graduates to contact ZimTrade for business connections and pledged support for establishing those relationships. She visited sewing operations and a poultry facility donated by a party member who continues supporting local residents.

Community members, party officials, traditional leaders, and students attended the event. Pupils wore uniforms produced at the center, and the ceremony highlighted regional efforts to develop women's capabilities through vocational training programs.
