The ruling Zanu PF party is pursuing the implementation of its key conference resolutions through Parliament and government bodies. Party Secretary Charles Tawengwa stated that the primary focus is on a constitutional amendment to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term until 2030. He clarified that this is not a bid for a third term but an extension to allow completion of the National Development Strategy. Tawengwa argued that maintaining the President's leadership is essential for ongoing economic stability and growth, citing progress in infrastructure and currency. He assured party members that the resolution, which passed without objection, would be enacted.
