ZBCA urges the construction sector to innovate or fall behind

Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association leader Tinashe Manzungu declared that digital transformation has become essential for survival as the nation's construction industry faces regulatory shifts and technological advances. Speaking at the organization's newly established training academy in Nyanga, Manzungu emphasized that practitioners must embrace green building techniques and smart urban planning to remain competitive in a sector that attracted more than 3.1 billion dollars between 2020 and early 2024.

Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Misheck Mugadza highlighted tourism infrastructure gaps in the Eastern Highlands requiring additional hotel capacity, while Deputy Local Government Minister Benjamin Kabukira outlined partnership opportunities at Mount Hampden and other state-backed developments. Regional representatives from Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana attended the conference, where the association also introduced a construction periodical targeting industry professionals.
