Six Zebra Kiss workers beat up a female passenger at their Harare garage on June 5, 2025. The men appeared in court on June 10 facing assault and theft charges. Charlotte Dube, 27, from Stoneridge had just returned from Zambia on a company bus. Another passenger said her bag of goods was missing from the luggage area.
Employee Romario Mugabe blamed Charlotte for the theft. He said she had only declared one green bag when boarding but had two items when leaving. Romario slapped Charlotte twice and made her get back on the bus. The missing bag was found and returned to the other passenger.
Five more workers joined Romario and attacked Charlotte together. Marlvin Maidei hit her back and buttocks with a guava tree stick. Decent Musonza and Kudakwashe Gotora also beat her with wooden sticks. Munashe Nhambura poured cold water over her body. Pardon Chivhanga gave orders during the attack.
Charlotte suffered multiple injuries and needed medical care. All six men received free bail from Mbare Magistrate Tatenda Mukurunga. They must return to court on July 17, 2025.
