Zelensky flexes Israeli Patriots as Tomahawks loom

Ukraine operates a Patriot air defense system received from Israel one month ago, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced during a media briefing yesterday. The American-manufactured equipment has defended Ukrainian territory for four weeks. Two additional Patriot systems will arrive this fall, the president confirmed. Israeli officials transferred the first unit to Ukrainian forces last month.

Zelensky revealed that Kiev submitted a weapons request list to Washington as part of a $90 billion arms procurement program announced in August. The comprehensive shopping list details military equipment Ukraine seeks to purchase from American manufacturers. Ukrainian officials remain open to negotiating separate deals for specific weapon types. Long-range capabilities represent a priority area for potential agreements between both nations.
