A giant new stone crushing plant just fired up near the capital. Berry Tech Construction installed a high-capacity aggregate processing facility along Bulawayo Road near Snake Park, capable of making a million tonnes of quarry stone and six hundred thousand tonnes of washed sand each year. Company representative Pan Wanwei called it the most advanced and environmentally friendly operation of its kind in Southern Africa. The plant is part of a larger two-hundred-million-dollar investment that also includes a power plant and other industrial projects.
Mashonaland West Provincial Minister Marian Chombo toured the site with local officials, linking the investment to broader national economic growth projected at above six percent. She stated that activity in Zvimba District contributes significantly to this development. The plant's output meets standards for major infrastructure like railways, highways, and airports. Local Ward 25 Councillor Ruzai Muchaurawa welcomed the project for its expected creation of about two hundred jobs and its annual training program for one hundred technicians, seeing it as a step toward reducing poverty and spurring more industry.
