The decision came from a Zambezi River Authority meeting led by Zimbabwe's energy minister, July Moyo, aiming to accelerate the 4.2 billion dollar project with revised, faster timelines.

The council also checked in on other authority projects, like the planned floating solar farm at Kariba and the ongoing dam repairs there. They reviewed completed local clinics under a development fund, directing their official opening with community leaders involved.
