Zimbabwe cops land 96 flat housing jackpot

Zimbabwe opens new homes for police officers after finishing four apartment buildings in Harare on Friday. The buildings hold 96 housing units that give officers places to live near their work stations. President Emmerson Mnangagwa started the program to help security workers find better places to stay.

Sergeant Caroline Vuma said the new home makes her job easier because she no longer travels far distances every day. Superintendent Molin Rumbwere agrees that having nearby housing reduces stress and makes police work better. Both officers thank the president for caring about where they live.

Minister Kazembe Kazembe says the government plans to build similar housing projects across Zimbabwe. He mentions that construction already started in Dotito within Mashonaland Central Province. The minister explains that President Mnangagwa wants all police officers to have good homes.

Senator Charles Tawengwa praises the president for improving Zimbabwe's roads and buildings. He points to the new Trabablas Interchange that reduces traffic problems and the Geo Pomona Waste Management center. The government also gave police officers new vehicles last year to help them do their jobs better.
