President Mnangagwa also promoted 26 army officers to the rank of Colonel. Under Zimbabwe's laws, he has the power to do this. The promotions reward the officers for their loyal service to the country.

At a ceremony, a senior general praised the newly promoted colonels. He said they have shown hard work and dedication over many years. He asked them to keep working hard in their new roles, and he wanted them to bring fresh ideas and energy to their jobs.

The promoted colonels expressed thanks to President Mnangagwa. They promised to work even harder to defend Zimbabwe and its people. They pledged their loyalty to the president, the constitution, and the army.
