Zimbabwe tycoon hands out cars and cash

A wealthy businessman from Zimbabwe has caught everyone's attention with his flashy gifts. Wicknell Chivayo hands out expensive cars and stacks of cash to people he thinks deserve them. He gives away Mercedes cars, Toyota SUVs, and Range Rovers to musicians, church leaders, and supporters of the ruling political party. The 44-year-old man calls himself Sir Wicknell and drives around town showing off his white Rolls-Royce. He loves posting pictures of his luxury lifestyle on social media for everyone to see.

People wonder how Chivayo makes all his money since most folks in Zimbabwe struggle just to pay their bills. He says he runs businesses that work with the government on energy projects and construction deals. His company also partners with foreign firms from China and other countries. Last year his business became the local partner for Elon Musk's satellite internet service. Chivayo grew up poor after his father died when he was just ten years old.

Government officials have looked into his business dealings after some people accused him of corruption. Audio recordings surfaced where someone who sounded like him talked about shady deals with election officials. He denied everything and said the recordings were fake. Two other businessmen mentioned in those recordings ended up getting arrested for different crimes. Even with all the controversy, Chivayo keeps giving away cars and flashing his wealth around Zimbabwe.
