Zimbabwe villagers accuse ex-ZANU-PF official of seizing gold claims

A washed-up politician is allegedly hijacking gold mines from villagers while police act like his personal security detail. Danny Musukuma faces accusations of seizing claims in Makaha, Mudzi District, while terrorizing locals and citing his supposed connections to the top brass. The ex-party official reportedly enters partnership deals only to kick out the actual owners once the digging starts.

Rabson Nkomo claims this guy stole a mine from his late father after promising a profit split that never materialized. He detailed a terrifying scene where Musukuma allegedly fired shots at their family homestead. The executor says he brought shell casings to Makosa Police Station, but officers ignored the evidence completely.

Locals insist the one-time director brags about being untouchable due to his link to President Mnangagwa. They accuse officers at Mutoko Central Police Station of taking bribes to arrest the victims on fake charges whenever they complain. The village head stated that legitimate paperwork means nothing when the other guy controls the law enforcement.

Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that an investigation is finally happening after a video of the complaints went viral. Meanwhile, the frustrated community filed a formal grievance with the Zimbabwe Independent Complaints Commission, hoping someone would actually listen to their plea for help against the displacement.
