Zimbabwe Warriors host Rwanda at Johannesburg's Orlando Stadium

The Zimbabwe Football Association has confirmed Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg will host the Warriors' match against Rwanda on September 9, 2025, at 3 PM CAT. This 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier represents another neutral venue fixture for Zimbabwe due to ongoing renovations at Harare's National Sports Stadium. The Warriors occupy last place in Group C with four points, trailing leaders South Africa by nine points with four matches remaining.

Recent performances demonstrate renewed fighting spirit from the national team. Zimbabwe recovered from a two-goal deficit against Benin to secure a 2-2 draw, with Marshal Munetsi and Knowledge Musona finding the net after Steve Mounié and Dodo Dokou had given Benin the advantage. The team also earned a dramatic 1-1 draw against Nigeria when Tawanda Chirewa struck a late equalizer following Victor Osimhen's opener. These results provide hope as Zimbabwe pursues an unlikely World Cup qualification despite facing significant odds.
