Zimche slams fake degrees from dodgy schools

Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education says anyone using fake degrees or false titles must stop immediately. If they continue, they face both civil and criminal charges. Officials found more than 12 fake schools giving out worthless degrees across the country. Remember that Zimbabwe only accepts degrees from 21 registered universities plus two international schools.

ZIMCHE released a statement yesterday telling these fake schools to shut down operations immediately. They must take back all the phony degrees they handed out. Anyone who received these fake qualifications should stop claiming them as real. Many of these places keep breaking the law by enrolling students and printing worthless diplomas despite repeated warnings.

The council expressed special worry about people calling themselves Professors or Doctors based on these bogus credentials. ZIMCHE plans to investigate all these scams under its legal authority. It wants to protect the good name of Zimbabwean higher education. Legal action awaits both the fake schools and people using their made-up degrees.

The public should always check with ZIMCHE before signing up for any college program. Businesses hiring new employees need to verify educational claims during interviews. Beware of unregistered schools that keep moving locations to hide from authorities. Many aren't even Zimbabwean-owned and falsely claim connections to foreign universities that lack proper accreditation themselves.

Some problem schools include the International Institute of Philanthropy, Faith in God Ministries International, Apostolos University, Global University, Carmel Bible Theological Institute, Mount Camel Institute of Business Intelligence, Mount Hermon Theological Seminary, Faith World Bible, African Leadership Institute, Global Shepherds Bible Institute with EI Shaddai Theological Seminary, and Reach the World International Bible College.

ZIMCHE makes it clear that any school not on its official list operates illegally. Degrees from these places mean nothing in Zimbabwe. Students waste money and time on education that employers will reject. The government takes these violations seriously and plans to crack down harder on academic fraud throughout the country.
