The Gender Ministry joined with Health officials to ask the Zomba Gender team members to collaborate on sharing gender news and vaccine information. Francis Chitenje from the Gender Ministry talked about teamwork during a one-day training session. The World Health Organization helped run this event, where people learned how to spread important messages in their areas. Chitenje said that when everyone works together, community members can join local growth projects. He believes the workshop will create strong ties between gender experts and health workers to raise awareness about vaccines.
Chitenje called vaccine education a shared job for all partners involved. Ruperth Kamtsendero from Zomba District Council praised both ministries for providing the training. He found it helpful and stressed how important group efforts are when telling people about vaccines. Emma Nkwinika attended from Maternity Worldwide and said she learned much about gender issues and shots. The push for partnership shows why groups must combine forces when teaching communities about key health matters.
