Malaysia's Cyber Security Response Centre, called Cyber999, has logged over five thousand seven hundred cybersecurity incident reports so far this year. The Digital Ministry's secretary general, Fabian Bigar, noted that the figure is more than a thousand cases higher than the same period last year. He stated that digital threats are now a daily reality, not just a possibility, pointing to police data on telecom fraud cases through November, causing estimated nationwide losses exceeding seven hundred million ringgit. These incidents include fraud, data breaches, malicious software, and unauthorized intrusion attempts.
