Zimbabwe Hospitals on Brink as Doctors Demand Overhaul
Doctors want Zimbabwe's president to start a formal investigation into the country's broken hospitals. The Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights made this request after President Emmerson Mnangagwa visited two major hospitals on Monday. Public hospitals lack basic medicines and working equipment throughout the nation. Healthcare workers feel discouraged and many have left the country. The doctors believe Mnangagwa saw the problems firsthand during his hospital visits. They want a Commission of Inquiry to examine how the government provides health services. The investigation should look at hospital funding and check if the government meets its constitutional promise to provide healthcare. The commission needs to study...
Zimbabwe Lithium Rush Drains Villagers Water and Grazing Land
Electric car batteries need more lithium. Mining companies dig for this metal in Zimbabwe's rural villages where families have lived for generations. The government lets Chinese companies take the lithium from these areas. People lose their farmland and get little money back. Cattle need grass and water, but mines use both. One mine takes 1000 tons of lithwhile daily and dumps waste into water where animals drink. Laws exist to punish companies that pollute water. The fine reaches $5000 or five years in jail. Rural people cannot fight big mining companies alone. Government offices stay quiet about the damage. The Environmental Management Agency does not check these mines. No one talks about fixing the land after mining ends...
Zimbabwe Seeks SA Help to Shake Off 21B Debt Burden
Zimbabwe wants South Africa to help fix its massive debt problem through a special international program. The country owes $21 billion to banks and other lenders around the world. South Africa currently leads the Group of 20 nations and could push other countries to support Zimbabwe's request. The debt program was made in 2020 to help poor countries work with their creditors. Other African nations like Zambia and Ghana have already used this system. Zimbabwe has been trying to solve its debt crisis since 2022 but has struggled to make progress. The country asked 10 different nations to provide $2.6 billion in emergency money but none have agreed to help. Zimbabwe lost access to international money markets more than 25 years ago because...
Zambians Weep Over Kings Mumbi Malembe Call For Unity
Zambian gospel singer Kings Mumbi Malembe made a music video for his new song Call For Unity. The track acts as a prayer for peace after former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu died recently. Malembe wants his country to come together during this sad time through love and faith. Tim K Pro directed the video with scenes of people mourning and praying together. The simple production lets the spiritual message stay strong throughout the piece. Malembe uses his music to help heal the nation after losing their former leader. The song works as both a tribute to the late president and a message for action. Malembe tells all Zambians they are one people beyond politics or tribal differences. The gospel artist hopes his music will bring unity...

Wombo Neon Bog Video Will Haunt Your Dreams
Louisville band Wombo released their new song Neon Bog after sharing the title track from their upcoming album Danger In Fives last month. Singer and bass player Sydney Chadwick says the track reflects on a simple moment with a friend and how relationships shift over time. The murky feeling of the song matches how things become unclear as connections change. Guitarist Cameron Lowe directed the music video and drew inspiration from filmmaker Michel Gondry's practical effects work. He built a full-sized miniature set and projected scenes onto a sheet outside the window instead of using green screens. Lowe has been watching Ghost Adventures and wanted to explore paranormal themes through the video. The story shows a couple dealing with...
Goon Dream 3 Single Lemme Cry To Tamara Has Fans Freaking Out
Psych-pop band Goon has released Begin Here as their newest single. The track appears on their upcoming album Dream 3 alongside previously shared songs Closer To and Patsy's Twin. Kenny Becker's vocals float over drifting melodies that create a dreamlike atmosphere. The chorus centers around the phrase about crying to Tamara, which refers to bassist Tamara Simons. Becker developed the song from a reversed guitar progression he had written earlier. He showed the demo to Simons during a 2023 tour when she encouraged him to include it on their next record. The lyrics explore themes of heartbreak and emotional pain. Becker describes feeling like a wounded animal lost in a canyon during difficult times. Simons provided support during...
