NAIROBI, Kenya - The government has obtained 5.6 million bags of subsidized fertilizer. Farmers can access it through the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).
Government Spokesman Isaac Mwaura announced this on Wednesday. He said it is part of preparations for the upcoming rainy season.
The goal is to make farm inputs more affordable. This will boost agricultural productivity and food security across Kenya.
"The government has secured this fertilizer for the long rains," Mwaura said. "It will be available to farmers via NCPB."
