2,000 experts fly to Bharat Mandapam to talk about plugs and wires

The Bureau of Indian Standards will host over 2,000 international experts at the 89th International Electrotechnical Commission General Meeting from September 15-19. Bharat Mandapam serves as the venue for representatives from more than 100 nations who will establish global electrotechnical standards. India assumes responsibility for low-voltage direct Current standardization, positioning the country at the forefront of clean energy initiatives. Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Piyush Goyal will preside over the opening ceremonies and exhibition launches, respectively. This marks the fourth occasion India has welcomed this prestigious gathering since 1960.

The accompanying exhibition features 75 participants showcasing innovative electric mobility solutions and smart technology. Public access remains free between 2 PM and 6 PM daily through advance registration. Young professionals numbering 93 will engage in specialized workshops and industry tours across various locations. Students totaling 2,000 from educational institutions plan to attend the demonstrations. Environmental sustainability takes center stage as the Bureau commits to planting saplings for each digital pledge received at its pavilion.
