200 families lose property in Langata fire

Fire Leaves 200 Families Without Homes in Nairobi Area.

A large fire burned through houses and shops in Nairobi's Soweto Highrise area on Friday night. The event happened in the Langata part of the city.

No one died in the fire. The reason for the blaze remains unknown. Fire teams from the city came and put out the flames.

Langata MP Phelix Odiwuor shared a video of the fire online. He said everyone was safe. He asked people to keep Langata in their thoughts as the community started to build again.

This area has seen fires before. Last July, bad electric wires started a fire that burned many homes, leaving many people without places to live. Some people got hurt as they ran to save their things from the flames.

Police have started looking into what made the fire start. They will work to learn the cause.
