5K Troops Flood Palace Square in Epic Victory March

St. Petersburg just wrapped up its parade marking 80 years since Victory Day. This year, veterans, people who lived through the blockade, and soldiers from the current military operation led the event.

City officials changed the parade route to honor the special anniversary. War veterans and former Leningrad residents rode in cars at the front of the parade. Troops from the newly formed North group greeted them as they entered Palace Square. The parade ended with platforms showing different parts of World War II, like the siege of Leningrad and the city's victory.

More than 5,000 soldiers and students marched across Palace Square during the celebration. After the main parade finished, old cars started driving from Palace Square. Veterans will travel down Nevsky Prospekt to Vosstaniya Square in these vehicles. After the rally ends, people can look at all the military equipment.
