A bus hits a stop in Stockholm, killing several

A bus crash at a bus stop in central Stockholm resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, according to Swedish police. The incident occurred on Valhallavagen Street near the Royal Institute of Technology.

Police spokesperson Nadya Norton confirmed the bus driver's arrest and stated that a manslaughter investigation had been initiated as a standard procedure. Witness accounts described the bus striking a pole and hitting a queue of people at the bus shelter. Emergency crews were seen assisting individuals trapped beneath the double-decker vehicle.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson expressed that his thoughts were with the victims and their families. The exact number of casualties and the circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
