Access Bank bets on youth, new money skills for the next gen

Access Bank Tanzania dropped a new program called Access Wezesha to teach young people how to handle their money, and they kicked things off by teaming up with AIESEC at IFM to run workshops for over 200 university students covering budgeting and saving habits. Irene Mutiganzi from the bank's marketing team said getting youth sorted with money skills early helps them chase their goals better, and the bank already offers accounts like IZE, designed specifically for students managing their cash.

AIESEC's local president, Faith Jonas Kwayu, backed the partnership since her group focuses on leadership development, and she thinks understanding finances builds better leaders. Both outfits plan to roll out more sessions across Tanzania to keep supporting young people trying to get their financial lives together.
