Activist Flies Abroad to Bag Ken Ofori-Atta Bounty

Solomon Owusu wants to bring back former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta from overseas. The Movement for Change member says he will travel to America and find the wanted official. Owusu asked the Office of the Special Prosecutor to offer five million dollars for Ofori-Atta's capture. He called the SML petroleum contract a scheme to steal money from Ghana. The former NPP member believes Ofori-Atta left the country to avoid facing charges.

Owusu spoke on TV3's morning program about the corruption case. He thinks the Special Prosecutor should take stronger action against the former minister. The official described the oil sector deal as a plan to create fake work and share stolen funds. Owusu says no company like SML was needed for Ghana's petroleum business. He believes the government created the contract just to move money to private pockets.

The critic argues that prisoners should go free if Ofori-Atta escapes justice. He claims the former minister's alleged crimes hurt Ghana more than most criminal cases. Owusu wants authorities to force Ofori-Atta back to face trial. The Office of the Special Prosecutor has already put the former minister on a wanted list. INTERPOL has also issued a Red Notice to help bring him back to Ghana.
