Ghana will host the sixth Cross-Country Mountain Bike Championship at Borteman Sports Complex on October 4, 2025. Emmanuel Kwasi Antwi founded this annual competition to develop cycling communities and showcase athletic talents. The event features multiple age groups competing across distances from three to thirty kilometers. Prudential and DHL provide major sponsorship support for the championship.
Young participants aged five through sixteen compete in shorter races while adults tackle the full thirty-kilometer course. Mountain bikes offer greater accessibility and affordability compared to road cycling equipment. Adenta students demonstrate strong participation rates according to organizer expectations. The event creates lasting community engagement through established cycling routes that encourage youth participation throughout the region.
