Advocate Calls for Full Re-run in Ablekuma North to Settle Dispute

A top activist thinks Ghana's election bosses made a bad choice about fixing voting problems. Rodaline Imoru Ayarna says the Electoral Commission should redo the whole Ablekuma North race instead of just 19 stations. She fears the current plan will create more trouble rather than solve anything.

Ayarna appeared on TV3's New Day program last Thursday and shared her concerns. She believes the chosen voting spots favor one political party over others. The activist thinks this setup looks unfair and could spark new arguments after the July 11 voting happens.

The public interest champion wants election officials to start over completely across the entire area. She argues this approach would stop people from claiming someone cheated during the process. Ayarna thinks a full restart would give everyone confidence about the final results.

The advocate warns that poor handling of this dispute could leave residents without anyone speaking for them. She points to another area called SALL that went four years without proper representation. Ayarna says Ablekuma North sits right at the heart of the capital city and cannot afford such problems.

The Electoral Commission faces pressure to make the right decision about these contested election results. Voters want their voices heard through fair and honest elections. The July 11 partial voting will test whether the current solution actually works for everyone involved.
