Public Interest Advocate Urges NPP to Accept EC's Re-run Decision in Ablekuma North

A public interest advocate has called out the opposition party for changing their tune about election officials. Rodaline Imoru Ayarna says the NPP cannot pick and choose when to respect the Electoral Commission. She reminded everyone that the same party used to praise these officials as independent when they held power. The advocate thinks the NPP should accept the decision to hold new voting without complaints. She pointed out that many people have always trusted whatever the commission decided over the years.

The Electoral Commission wants to redo voting at 19 polling stations in Ablekuma North. This area has been without a Member of Parliament since the December elections. Officials from both major parties met on Tuesday to discuss the situation. The new election will happen on Friday, July 11. The constituency remains one of the most disputed areas from the last general election.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for the area has refused to accept the commission's plan. Akua Afriyie says the election officials have changed their story about the problem. She claims these same officials told Parliament that only three polling stations had issues. The candidate believes the commission is making a complete reversal from their earlier position. Many people are watching to see how this political drama unfolds.
