AfDB Sees Zimbabwe Among Africa Fastest Growing Economies

People think Zimbabwe will grow very fast this year. The African Bank says Zimbabwe's money will grow by 5.3 percent, making It one of the fastest-growing places in Africa.

The money person in Zimbabwe, Professor Mthuli Ncube, thinks it will grow even more by 6 percent. Other places like Niger, Senegal, Rwanda, and Ethiopia will also grow fast. Niger might grow the most because of its oil.

Farms in Zimbabwe will help the country grow because good rain fell this year. Last year was hard because not much rain fell. The country only grew by 2 percent then, and people could not grow much corn to eat.

This year will be better. Digging for gold and other special rocks will help. More people will visit Zimbabwe to see nice places. The country will build new roads and houses.

The World Bank thinks many parts of Zimbabwe will do well. Trucks will carry more things, people will build more, shops will sell more, and factories will make more.

Ms. Gladys says this news makes her happy. She thinks the country can reach its goals if people work hard. Mr. Tapiwa says the government and companies must work together to fix problems and keep good things going.

Other big world money groups also say Zimbabwe will grow. They think farms will grow the most, making 13 percent more food. People will grow more corn and tobacco. Gold will cost more money, helping miners. New mines will dig for special rocks like lithium. More people from other countries will come to see Zimbabwe and sleep in hotels.
